What is the job?
As our Senior Back-End Engineer you will be a key member of the organization. First and foremost you will be handling a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to code. There is a ton of opportunity to impact the product. You will work closely with our Director of Engineering to define the direction and architecture.
We are committed to using the right tool for the job. You will have the freedom to experiment and introduce new technologies to the stack. We are a big fan of bleeding edge technologies and are currently implementing a very modern Kotlin based Microservice architecture.
In addition to heavy technical influence you will also have the opportunity to lead and grow with the organization. We are young and you will be integral to teaching and guiding Junior Devs.
What does our ideal candidate look like?
The core of what we are doing is process automation. We love process junkies and you are one too! You have worked extensively with Java in the past and can easily pick up Kotlin and Go.
You have in-depth knowledge of Microservices. You have worked with Kubernetes, Docker, and know the ins-and-outs of request tracing and green/blue deployments.
You also bring strong database knowledge and have a good understanding of SQL and SQL based databases. We are using Postgres and CockroachDB for web-scale and stability.
You are also a mature and tenured engineer. We are dealing with a lot of compliance and fiduciary duties, so maturity and professional communication are essential.
What are the software development skills we require?
• BE: Java, Scala, or Golang (Go)
• Microservices Experience: Docker & Kubernetes
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• SQL and Postgres
What are the technical plusses?
• A Mix of Compliance and Security on top of BE programming would be huge!
• Major Bonus points for being a process automation junkie!
