Lead Front-End Software Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer who is an expert in the MEAN stack and has a knack for Node.js! If that sounds like you, then please read on!

Who are we?

We are a 100-year-old reinsurance company that is part of one of the largest conglomerates in the world. We are located in Manhattan, and we have over 60,000 employees with nearly 100 offices around the world.

What is the job?

Our new Engineering team is responsible for multiple high visibility initiatives connected to the C-Suite. We are responsible for building out our brand new client portal, lifecycle management platform, and placements system.

We are currently utilizing vendors for a lot of the heavy groundwork and are building out our core internal team. As the Lead Engineer, you will lead a team of technologists that are building out client facing solutions to power one of the world’s largest and most respected risk management and reinsurance firms.

First and foremost you will lead these projects overseeing our vendor partners. You will be responsible for setting standards, code reviews, design, coding, testing, debugging and driving implementation of a suite of software programs in addition to meeting project plan goals. As we grow and more development comes inhouse you will transition to a more code intensive leadership role that involves mentorship of more junior developers on the team.


What skills do you bring to the table?

In order to be successful in this role you must have expertise in the following:

  • MEAN STACK (MongoDB, ExpressJS, AngularJS and NodeJS.)

  • Extensive experience on the server side with Node

  • Computer Science Degree

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in production
