Senior Staff Engineer

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer who is an expert in .Net/C# and experience with micro-services and distributed systems to join one of the world's fastest growing technology startups.


What is the job?

As a Staff Level Software Engineer within our organization, you will be responsible for providing the highest level of hands-on technical leadership for your team.

We are in the midst of a massive project and we need a hands-on expert to play a pivotal role on a rebuild of one of our most complex applications. You will be responsible for the heavy technical lifting as we move one of our major Monoliths to Microservices.

This is a complete architectural rebuild and you will work collaboratively with engineering management to drive the roadmap and adoption through Senior Software Engineers on down. The application is built in C#/.Net on the back-end. We run gRPC, are on AWS, and utilize Docker, Kubernetes and Kafka heavily.

You will be the front line of tackling the most difficult back-end engineering issues the team will certainly encounter. This role is hands-on and 60% of your time will be contributing to the code.

Communication is huge. The ability to facilitate interaction and introduce new technical solutions is an essential and integral aspect of this role. We encourage technical curiosity and you will have a seat at the table when it comes to implementing new ideas and technologies to innovate our stack.


What skills do you need to have to be successful in this role?

• Leadership: You have worked in technical leadership capacity

• Strong Back-End Engineering Experience: C#/.Net

• Experience working with Cloud Technologies: AWS, GCP, and/or Azure

• Microservices utilizing Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration are a big plus!

• Stream processing utilizing Apache Kafka are a major plus!

• Web Application Architecture and Design: You can hit the ground running and have worked on large scale applications and distributed systems

• Migrations: Managing large scale moves from monolithic to microservice based architecture will only help boost you to the short list.

• Communication skills are essential.

• Ability to work in NYC on a hybrid schedule after Labor Day
