We are changing the online consumer lending and loan origination space. Business is good! Our platform helps drive down the price of everyday credit that consumers use to finance their purchases. The product touches on payments and eCommerce to a significant degree, though we are not primarily a payments company.
What is the job?
We are searching for a Manager of Software Engineering to join one of our Back-End or Full Stack Engineering teams responsible for an extremely important aspect of our business, the loan servicing platform.
You will lead and manage a technical staff solving complex back-end or Full Stack engineering problems. We work extensively with large scale distributed systems and you will play a key role in our engineering success.
This position is very much a hands-on management role. What does this mean? As a manager you will be responsible for the leadership of your team. This includes scaling the team as the organization scales. Your duties will include hiring, firing, 1-on-1s, code reviews, ensuring implementation, managing delivery schedules, planning, and the full agile SDLC.
From a hands on perspective, you will not be extensively coding day in and day out, but rather you will be architecting and designing solutions for your team. That being said, for particular issues, you may need to jump into the code and is definitely encouraged when necessary. We do not want our managers far from the cutting edge technology our organization utilizes.
What skills do we look for and are necessary for success?
• Minimum 3+ years of software engineering management experience
• Strong experience as a Back-End Engineer or Full Stack prior to moving into man
• BE or FS Engineering utilizing Golang, Java, C++, Java Script (React/Node)
• Service Oriented Architecture and Microservices experience
• Large scale distributed systems development
• Experience with scalable cloud based applications
• Computer Science Degree with a strong understanding of CS fundamentals
• AWS (CLI)
• Experience working cross functionally in a dynamic engineering environment
