Data Engineer (NYC Hedge-Fund w/ $5B AUM)

What's The Job?

As our new Data Engineer you be the first step in building out our new Data team. You'll be joined by a Senior Engineer with decades of experience and a Risk Analyst that will be your teams liaison to the traders / portfolio managers.

You'll own our data and databases, and spearhead new integration projects on the roadmap. You need to know SQL and databases well, along with programming capabilities in Python of C#.

This is a highly visible role. The company is 23 teammates strong, looking to grow to 30 by the end of the year. You'll get to interact closely with everyone, including the partners. This is a position great for someone who has a keen interest in the Asset Management space, and wants to be an integral part of a high performing company.


Who Are We?

We have over a decade of success in Asset Management, currently we have approximately $5B AUM entrusted to us. We focus on liquid credit markets.

Our current office space is in Midtown East, and we plan to move to a bigger office next year due to our growth. While our traders are in office 5 days a week, you and other engineers can operate on a hybrid schedule (2-3 days a week in office). There is no requirement for you to be in the office 5 days a weeks, but you are welcome to be if you prefer.


What Skills Do You Need?

  • Knowing SQL and databases (on prem) inside out
  • Python or C# for programming
  • Good communication skills so you can speak Tech to non-technical teammates
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience
