Technical Accounting Manager

LOCATION Miami

We own and operate thousands of brick & mortar restaurants in hundreds of countries, and are now growing our e-commerce / direct-to-consumer brand.

 

Position Overview:

 

The position is responsible for overseeing global technical accounting transactions and high-risk accounts. The position will require technical accounting research and accounting documentation while actively maintaining and updating our firm's accounting policies. The position will also be responsible for the implementation of new and modified accounting guidance while working with appropriate teams to ensure proper adoption. The candidate must have an accounting background with public accounting experience.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the research and evaluation of transactions, legal contracts, business practices, new and modified accounting guidance, and policies for compliance with accounting and reporting standards
  • Analyzes the organization’s complex transactions which include but are not limited to revenue recognition, derivative transactions, and required impairment testing
  • Interacts with external auditors on technical accounting issues and assists in the support of all annual audits and quarterly reviews by legal entities
  • Assists in the assessment and review of financial controls established over technical accounting areas

 

Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; master's degree preferred; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
  • 6+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or public accounting/private mix)
  • Knowledge of applicable procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to finance and accounting; knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Skilled in solving problems and making decisions; skilled in sharing information with others and facilitating the open exchange of ideas and information
  • Ability to clearly communicate and understand the information in business English, both orally and in writing; ability to identify data issues and make effective recommendations for solutions; ability to develop recommendations, evaluate alternative courses of action, select the correct course of action, and follow up, supporting decisions or recommendations with accurate information or reasoning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
