The Team & Role

We’re looking for an experienced technical leader to manage a team of 10+ machine learning engineers and applied scientists focused on integrating advanced AI capabilities into a core consumer application used by millions. This role blends hands-on technical direction with strategic leadership to deliver AI-driven features that enhance usability, protect user trust, and set new industry standards.

You’ll be leading a team at the cutting edge of generative AI, driving initiatives from early research to production deployment, and ensuring that complex technology translates into simple, meaningful user benefits.

What you’ll do

• Build and mentor a high-performing team developing and deploying generative AI models.
• Oversee the full ML lifecycle — research, prototyping, model development, training, evaluation, deployment, and continuous iteration.
• Partner closely with product managers, designers, and research teams to deliver features that feel seamless, relevant, and trustworthy.
• Establish the technical strategy for AI initiatives, aligning it with broader product and business goals.
• Advocate for user privacy, security, and ethical AI practices throughout the development process.

What Skills / Experience You Need

• 10+ years in machine learning, including at least 5 years leading technical teams.
• Proven experience delivering ML or generative AI solutions at scale, including work with modern architectures such as LLMs, transformers, or multimodal models.
• Deep knowledge of frameworks and infrastructure for scalable ML (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and experience with robust MLOps practices.
• Strong track record of shipping user-facing features to large audiences.
• Background in on-device ML deployment or privacy-preserving approaches (differential privacy, federated learning) is a plus.
• Masters Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Exceptional communication skills — able to break down complex technical work into clear plans and inspire cross-functional collaboration.

• Total Comp. approximately $500,000 (Base + Bonus)
